Kitchen cabinet organization for the things you use every day
Organize by the movement of a meal: prep, cook, serve, clean. The cabinet label matters less than the distance your hands travel.
Start with one cabinet
Empty a single high-friction cabinet and group its contents by frequency. Keep daily items between waist and eye level, occasional items higher or farther back, and duplicates together.
Use containers only when they improve access
A bin is useful when it lets you remove a group at once. It is counterproductive when it hides the thing you need or creates an extra lid. Measure the shelf and leave room for a hand.
Protect heavy and hot items
Keep heavy cookware low and stable. Heat-producing appliances need the clearance and ventilation specified by the manufacturer; do not pack them into a cupboard while operating.
Make the reset obvious
Leave the front third of a shelf for the most-used items and reserve one visible place for unfinished tasks. A system that shows what is missing is easier to maintain than one that hides everything.
